Position Summary:
The Copywriter position is responsible for creating engaging and informative content tailored to our higher education partners. You will work closely with our marketing and creative teams to develop compelling copy that effectively communicates our partners messaging and resonates with our target audience. This position requires excellent written and oral communication, organization, documentation, and research skills to ensure that all content aligns with brand standards and reflects the strategic goals and intent of the work.
Primary Responsibilities, Essential Functions and Requirements:
- Produces clear, concise, and compelling copy for a variety of digital marketing, Business to Business (B2B) content, and print platforms, including websites, social media, email campaigns, digital advertisements, and printed materials.
- Sets and maintains tone and voice for marketing initiatives, upholds editorial quality standards, and communicates brand messaging guidelines to ensure consistency across all marketing materials
- Be aware of industry trends, best practices, and target audience preferences to guide content creation that align with strategy
- Carefully examine content for errors in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting to maintain a high level of quality and professionalism in all marketing materials.
- Collaborates closely with the marketing and creative teams to ensure that delivery aligns with strategies that effectively support the partners’ marketing goals and maintain brand consistency
- Works collaboratively with creative team members, such as creative directors, writers, and designers, to conceptualize and execute marketing materials for print, web, video, and various other formats
- Engages in brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas and translate creative briefs into engaging content solutions, utilizing imaginative and critical thinking skills
- Ability to present creative concepts to stakeholders with thoughtful rationale and seek feedback for continuous improvement
- Demonstrates proficiency in crafting messages across multiple channels, optimizing content for websites with SEO best practices, social media platforms, display advertising, and direct marketing
- Manages project timelines effectively, collaborating with project management to ensure timely delivery of all work
Requirements
Experience and Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of relevant writing experience, professional agency experience preferred but not required
- Possesses exceptional writing skills across a range of formats, mediums, tones, and styles
- Ability to collaborate and take big ideas and turn them into concise, eloquent and compelling messaging that meets the strategy and objective of the project
- Skilled at jumping quickly between tasks, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and delivering high-quality work within tight timelines
- Demonstrates professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a track record of effectively presenting ideas and providing rationale for creative concepts
- Well-versed in marketing best practices and stays updated on industry trends in communication, SEO strategies, and lead generation techniques
Education, Certifications and Licensures:
- Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communication or a concentration in writing is preferred
