Sr. Scientist (Process/NGS)
US – California – Menlo ParkFull TimeJR100649PacBio is looking for a Sr. Scientist (Process/NGS) who will focus on process development and testing for products and processes from concept feasibility to implementation and production for commercialization.Work at home may be permitted within commuting distance of the 1305 O'Brien Drive, Menlo Park, CA 94025 office.
Responsibilities:
- Work with R & D team re: reagent feasibility, generating product specifications, characterizing the product, developing manufacturing and QC processes, and transferring these stable processes to manufacturing.
- Hands-on testing and integration of assay and process workflows onto sequencing platforms.
- Plan, conduct, analyze, interpret, and report recommendations based on tested experimental results.
- Assess information to ensure data sufficiency and completeness of results.
- Write batch records, experimental protocols, summaries, and reports.
- Source and qualify external vendors, develop specifications, set up supply chain and manufacturing process.
- Will work as part of a scientific team and participate in team meetings and initiatives, and perform other duties as required.
Required:
- At least a Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology or related field
- At least 1 year in position offered or in quality control role, involving sequencing NPI
- Characterizing reagents to meet manufacturing requirements for critical reagent consumables
- Qualification of consumable products associated with single cell and molecular biology
- Functional testing of DNA/RNA based library preparation and NGS
- Create quality reports and training on use of QC assays, process improvement
- Process development (automation)
- Documentation (ISO)
- Collaboration between multiple teams for launch of new product
- Collaboration with external vendors
