No phone calls or third-party recruiters. The Head of Internal Communications and Strategy supports day-to-day company operations through collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team and will be a member of the operations leadership team in support of Grand Central Bakery’s mission to serve our customers delicious, authentic food made from high quality local and sustainable ingredients.

This role is focused on driving the execution of strategic initiatives, optimizing operational efficiency, and ensuring that key projects and tasks align with organizational goals. The Head of Internal Communications and Strategy supports cross-functional collaboration, analyzes performance metrics, and leads efforts to improve processes and workflows across departments. This position provides critical support for the COO's strategic vision while also playing a key role in fostering leadership development and organizational growth and oversees internal communications for the company. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential to guide teams, influence decisions, and drive the company’s operational success.Salary: $130,000.00/annually

Seattle, WA or Portland, OR

Schedule: 

As a full-time, exempt employee, the Head of Internal Communications and Strategy typically works 5 days a week with flexibility to adjust schedule around special projects and may be required to work extra hours and/or days on an irregular basis due to unforeseen circumstances and emergencies.

Qualifications:


  • 7+ years of experience in a Strategy or organizational development with a proven track record of leading and executing complex initiatives.
  • Experience in managing and driving organizational change, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong ability to influence and lead others without formal authority, with a demonstrated ability to coach and mentor colleagues at various levels.
  • Extensive knowledge of organizational development principles, leadership best practices, and performance management frameworks.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to turn data and insights into actionable strategies.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to write and speak clearly and persuasively to senior leadership, peers, and teams.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to drive results across multiple teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experienced with project management and business intelligence tools. Experience with MS Teams, Smartsheet, and Whiteboard preferred.
  • Lean/Six Sigma experience preferred.
  • Due to this position being located in a food production facility, this position is required to maintain a valid Food Handler's Card.
  • Has and maintains a valid Oregon or Washington driver’s license with 5 years of driving experience and a driving record acceptable to Grand Central Bakery.

Travel requirements:

To best support the organization, the Head of Internal Communications and Strategy occasionally travels between Portland and Seattle.
