Ignite Reading delivers one-to-one virtual tutoring that teaches every student the foundational skills they need to become a confident, fluent reader. We pair students who need extra support with expert reading tutors who provide daily, 15-minute, Science of Reading-based instruction that rapidly closes their decoding gaps. We focus on the foundational reading skills—phonics, phonemic awareness, and sight words—kids need to master so they can decode a sentence. Students in Ignite Reading’s program achieve over 2 weeks of reading skills growth per week of instruction, and notably all students achieve the same outstanding results including students with IEPs, multilingual learners, students of color and those receiving free or reduced-price lunch.Ignite Reading is a mission-driven public benefit corporation.

Your Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic thinker to join our team as the Manager of Corporate Strategy. Reporting directly to the Chief of Staff, this individual will play a pivotal role in shaping Ignite Reading’s long-term vision and strategic direction. Leveraging their background in management consulting, the Manager of Corporate Strategy will support the development of our 3-5 year strategy by conducting thorough research and analysis on market opportunities and dynamics, competitive landscapes, and customer needs.
Additionally, the Manager of Corporate Strategy will contribute to improving Ignite Reading’s student and financial outcomes by analyzing and improving our business processes and helping develop our approach to personalizing learning for every student.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Chief of Staff and executive team to define and refine Ignite Reading’s 3-5 year strategic plan.
- Conduct in-depth market research, including market sizing, industry trends, competitive analysis, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities and potential challenges.
- Synthesize complex data into actionable insights, delivering high-quality reports and presentations to stakeholders.
- Support cross-functional teams in developing initiatives that align with the organization’s strategic goals.
- Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of strategic initiatives and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Help us develop a strategy for personalizing learning for every student by understanding how the data we collect can be used to understand each student’s needs and determine what tutors do with each student every day.
- Conduct business model optimization to ensure scalability and sustainability, identifying areas for operational efficiency and innovation.
- Support internal process improvement efforts by analyzing and streamlining organizational processes to enhance strategy execution and overall effectiveness.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and innovations in the education and literacy sectors, providing thought leadership to the organization.
Skills & Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience as an analyst at a major management consulting firm, with a proven track record of strategic problem-solving and analytical work.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and present findings clearly.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in the education sector is a plus but not required.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools and software (e.g., Excel, Tableau, PowerPoint).
