Working closely with the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and the Commercial Leadership Team (CLT), this role will own identification, development, and execution of comprehensive strategies and tactical plans that drive acreage and revenue growth for the company.  The role is also responsible for leading all Commercial FP&A activities, including financial reporting and analysis, forecasting and budgeting, business model development, and instilling a capital allocation mindset across the Commercial organization. This leader will build partnerships with the CLT and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to become a trusted advisor and sounding board.  

Essential functions 


  • Serves as a trusted advisor to the CCO, working closely together to identify strategies and programs that drive acre, revenue, and contribution margin growth for Pivot Bio
  • Leads financial modeling efforts to support tactical and strategic decision-making including business case development, performance management, and sensitivity analysis
  • Leads and executes annual budgeting and monthly forecasting activities, as well as monthly financial reporting and analysis
  • Lead and develop a high-performing Commercial FP&A organization
  • Participates as a key contributor to the upgrade, design, development, and implementation of core systems and processes, including FP&A software and dashboard tools
  • Special projects/duties as assigned by the CCO, CFO or CEO

Work environment


  • Involves mostly office and computer-based work
  • Sedentary work that involves primarily involves sitting/standing
  • Spending long hours staring at computer screen
  • Repeating motions that may include wrists, hands or fingers

Required education and experience


  • 10+ years FP&A or equivalent experience; with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Bachelors’ Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; MBA a plus
  • Must have a fast pace-of-play, with a demonstrated track record of working effectively in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to proactively identify growth opportunities and tackle challenges with a “start with yes” mentality is a must-have qualification
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making while also being collaborative
  • Demonstrate ‘extreme ownership’ attitude in areas of responsibility
  • Essential background in forecasting, financial analysis, financial modeling, operational analysis, performance analysis, and financial reporting
  • Prior experience in a dynamic, high growth environment is strongly preferred
  • Experience with major ERP systems and associated planning and reporting tools
  • Travel – 30%
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

All remote positions and those not located in our Berkeley facility are paid based on National Benchmark data.  Following employment, growth beyond the hiring range is possible based on performance.Hiring Compensation Range$190,000—$220,000 USD
