Sr. Linux Systems Architect

The senior linux systems architect who has training and hands-on experience with both virtual and cloud environments and software support systems and automation.  You have played an integral role in the design, planning, and support of systems and applications for ISP networks and the related OSS and monitoring tools.  Additionally, you have extensive experience both supporting internal teams and external customers.  Dealing with systems outage and resolution is something that you view as a challenge and opportunity to permanently improve the network.  You are driven to learn, are passionate about systems, and are excited about engaging with many technologies you aren’t familiar with (Data Management and Reporting, Application Development) and working on projects / growing your skill outside of your current area of expertise.  Mentoring and training junior and entry level systems team members is something you both value and enjoy.
Responsibilities

  • Immediately contribute and participate in Wyyerd’s existing systems and network  deployments.
  • Provide significant input regarding systems  integration, expansion, and stabilization.
  • Contribute and create systems  process and procedure.
  • Become part of an amazing team, learn from and eventually teach coworkers, and discover and build up best practices to enhance your expertise.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge with linux system and server architecture design/deployment, systems administration and support including Rocky Linux, CentOS, Ubuntu server, Cloud (AWS), Virtualization, Python Scripting and Automation
  • Extensive knowledge of network OSS support software systems including NMS, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, TR-069/369, Netflow, Radius
  • Experience and understanding network monitoring, alarming, data collection, archiving, data management and reporting
  • Experience with Network Operations Centers (NOC) process, procedures, and best practices.
  • Previous experience and  knowledge of ISP Access and Backbone technologies and solutions
  • Basic knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies and solutions.
  • Basic knowledge of SIP VoIP.
  • Intellectual curiosity and desire to learn and engage fully regarding server system and application management responsibilities, Wyyerd’s business, methods and culture.
