Carbon Accounting Senior Manager


What you’ll be doing


  • Greenhouse Gas Inventory and Carbon Footprint Assessment:

  • Conduct comprehensive greenhouse gas inventories for clients, including Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.

  • Perform various carbon footprint assessments such as life cycle assessments (LCAs), product carbon footprints (PCFs), and embodied emission assessments

  • Use recognized carbon accounting standards such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, ISO 14064, or other relevant frameworks to quantify GHG emissions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data from various business units (energy consumption, waste management, supply chain, etc.)

  • Develop and deliver client inventory management plans (IMP)

  • Carbon Reporting and Compliance: 

  • Prepare detailed GHG emission reporting, ensuring compliance with local, national, and international regulations.

  • Support clients in disclosing emissions in accordance with frameworks like CDP, TCFD, and SBTi.

  • Stay updated with evolving environmental regulations and provide guidance on regulatory requirements for emissions reporting.

  • Client Engagement and Training

  • Present carbon accounting findings and sustainability strategies to executive leadership and stakeholders.

  • Work closely with clients' sustainability, finance, and operations teams to align carbon management with corporate objectives.

  • Provide training and workshops to help clients build internal capacity for carbon accounting and management.

  • Workiva Carbon Implementation

  • Lead the end-to-end implementation of the Workiva Carbon solution for clients.

  • Develop and deliver tailored implementation plans.

  • Collaborate with clients to gather and analyze activity and spend data to accurately calculate GHG emissions and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

  • Configure the Workiva platform to meet client-specific requirements.

  • Leadership and Team Development

  • Lead and develop other team members in performance of carbon-related engagements

  • Ensure engagement quality

  • Participate in development of internal tools, templates, training, and other resources

To be a good fit for our ESG - Carbon Accounting role you will have:


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3-7 years of experience in carbon accounting, sustainability consulting, or a similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of carbon accounting methodologies, GHG Protocol, and life cycle assessments (LCA).

  • Experience using carbon accounting tools and software platforms.

  • Familiarity with carbon markets, renewable energy credits (RECs), and carbon offset programs.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.

  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for a non-technical audience.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple clients/projects simultaneously.

Added bonus if you have: 


  • Experience with sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., CDP, TCFD, GRI) and regulations (e.g. CSRD, ISSB, SEC, California).

  • Knowledge of industry-specific carbon management practices (e.g., manufacturing, logistics, or energy sectors).

  • Experience developing carbon reduction and sustainability strategies tailored to clients' industries and business models.

  • Knowledge on carbon offsetting and renewable energy options to achieve carbon neutrality or net-zero targets.

  • Ability to assist clients in integrating carbon reduction into their broader ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) goals.
