POSITION SUMMARY


Responsible for providing outstanding communications support to Hendrick Motorsports and the designated team and driver through developing close working relationships with journalists, media outlets and corporate partners to ensure company and sponsor needs are met.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


• Responsible for working closely with team sponsors to generate valuable exposure and ensure sponsorship ROI  • Responsible for managing all aspects of the communications/public relations functions for the respective team platform.• Foster positive working relationships with members of the press and industry stakeholders.  • Respond to requests for information from the media in a professional and timely fashion; identify appropriate spokespeople and accurate information sources.  • Proactively, strategically and creatively promote, position and generate value for sponsor, driver and team through earned media, social and digital media, and other appropriate outlets.  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with representatives of the community, fans/consumers, employees, and public interest groups.

SKILLS & ABILITIES


Education:

Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school): Required
Experience: 4 plus years of experience

Computer Skills:

Intermediate level Microsoft Office skills. Experience with digital and social media strategies and tactics.

Other Requirements:

Ability to travel extensively. Ability to work weekends. Demonstrated strong understanding of media relations. Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with journalists/media and key sponsors. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate at all levels. Demonstrated ability to manage and organize multiple priorities. Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level. Expert understanding of public relations and earned media. Demonstrated strong communication skills and the ability to work with others at various levels. Proficient in writing, AP Style and copyediting. Understanding of earned media measurement and analytical tools.
