Job Description:


We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure and Network Engineer with expertise in Microsoft technologies, cloud platforms, and enterprise-level backups to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with Active Directory (AD). Distributed File System (DFS), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and a comprehensive understanding of backup and disaster recovery strategies. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust IT infrastructure and ensuring data integrity through effective backup management.

Responsibilities:


Microsoft Infrastructure Management:


  • Administer and maintain Active Directory, including user and group management, GPO configuration, domain controllers, and replication troubleshooting.
  • Design, implement, and manage Distributed File System (DFS) for high availability and scalability.
  • Plan and execute upgrades, migrations, and optimizations of AD and DFS.
  • Implement and enforce security policies for Active Directory and related Microsoft environments.

AWS and Cloud Operations: 


  • Manage and maintain AWS infrastructure, including EC2 instances, S3 storage, VPCs, and IAM policies.
  • Collaborate on cloud-based projects, ensuring seamless integration with on-premises systems.
  • Implement cloud security best practices to protect data and infrastructure.
  • Optimize infra for cost.

Backups and Disaster Recovery: 


  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive backup solutions for on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Regularly test and document disaster recovery plans to ensure data availability and business continuity.
  • Monitor backup operations, troubleshoot issues, and optimize backup performance.
  • Ensure adherence to industry best practices and compliance requirements for data protection.

Network and Infrastructure: 


  • Design, deploy, and maintain LAN/WAN, VPNs, and firewall configurations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network performance issues and outages.
  • Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Collaborate with vendors to support and maintain network infrastructure hardware and software.

Server and Systems Administration:


  • Manage Windows Server environments, including virtualization (e.g., Hyper-V or VMware).
  • Oversee patch management for servers and network devices.
  • Provide Tier 3 support for escalated infrastructure and network issues.

Documentation and Compliance: 


  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for infrastructure, backup processes, network topology, and configurations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Conduct regular audits of systems, networks, and backups for security and performance optimization.

Qualifications


Technical skills:


  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, network engineering, and backup management roles.
  • Proven expertise with Active Directory, DFS, and multi-domain environments.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud operations.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.). • Proficiency with backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, AWS Backup, etc.). • Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and task optimization. • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for on-premises and cloud environments.

Soft skills:


  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently when required.
