A.        Purpose and Scope of Position


This position is responsible for meeting or exceeding sales quotas within their assigned sales regions, and for helping to manage the assigned territory within budget guidelines.  This person does not supervise other employees and will support the activities of Independent Agents, Regional Vice Presidents, and the Vice President of Sales - Cofix & Coflex.  This position interacts with employees in the sales force and may interact with other Department Supervisors and employees as required.

B.        Organizational Relationship 


This position reports to the Vice President of Sales - Cofix & Coflex and is responsible for communicating effectively with other Xtant Medical Regional Managers within and outside the region to assure excellent customer service and for effectively communicating orders, shipping, and customer billing information with Xtant Medical’s corporate office.   This position will help manage and facilitate indirect sales channels and or distributor sales channels. This position may provide additional support to sales staff or other departments as requested.

C.        Duties and Responsibilities


  • Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Responsibility for direct sales interaction with key surgeon customers to insure achievement of new surgeon customer objectives and overall sales performance
  • Effective partnership and development of sales representatives and distribution partners a within the defined territory of responsibility
  • Consistent, effective, and documented business planning with distributor partners/sales representatives and surgeons in the territory
  • Exhibits high accountability, teamwork, and professionalism, ensuring performance and achievement of all sales objectives, as determined by the company
  • Work collaboratively with other employees in coordinated, successful support of the company business plan strategy
  • Effective utilization of the company’s resources and collaboration with all employees within the company to ensure appropriate deployment of resources, events, and key programs as required to drive sales performance
  • Financial Responsibilities
  • Submit timely expense reports and abide by the Expense Reimbursement Policy
  • Training
  • Participate in training plans and programs and complete in a timely manner within set deadlines
  • Complete required training prior to attempting to perform a task
  • Develop and maintain a scientific understanding of the Xtant Medical products and their respective uses
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the competitive products
  • Continually work to improve selling skills
  • Facilitate education on product advantages
  • Must be willing to attend leadership/managerial training as requested
  • Maintain required training documentation
  • Management
  • This position does not supervise others 
  • Document Control and Record Control
  • Assist in the completion and retention of documentation pertaining to all SOPs as required
  • Legibly and accurately complete all documentation associated with assigned duties in accordance with GDP and review the written documentation of others as required
  • Maintain information in physical and electronic files as required
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Performance of Duties
  • Complete required training, including initial orientation and environmental health and safety training, prior to performing tasks.  Keep training up to date
  • Perform all duties according to established procedures and follow appropriate safety precautions and measures
  • Conduct himself/herself in a professional and courteous manner in all aspects of interaction with fellow employees, surgeons, staff, and end users
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times
  • Must maintain confidentiality of donor and recipient information according to HIPAA

  • D.        Job Requirements


  • Education/Credentials Experience & Training
    • Three (3) to five (5) years’ related sales experience, preferably in the medical device and/or biologics industry
    • One (1) to two (2) years of working with a distributor model
    • BA or BS degree in related field is required. MBA is preferred
    • Strong scientific, clinical and market knowledge preferably within the ortho-biologics marketplace
    • Valid Driver’s License

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Experience with Coflex product sales in key markets, with direct selling responsibility for strategic surgeon customer targets
    • Basic level of technical and clinical knowledge and experience with Coflex product application and sales process
    • Experience with data-based sales process, to influence surgeon usage and practice patterns
    • Experience with fast paced, evolving sales process and market development

    4.         Working Conditions


    • Working environment is primarily field work 
    • Administrative work will be done out of a home office
    • Position entails 50 – 75% travel
    • Work may require long periods of sitting, standing, and working at a computer
    • Work may require occasional weekend/evening work and 8+ hours of standing
    • Must be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle and be able to drive as part of the regular duties. Daily duties may involve 10+ hours of driving

    5.      Health and Safety


    • Must adhere to all health and safety requirements specified when entering laboratory and device manufacturing areas and in the handling of company products
    • This position will sometimes be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including laboratory coat, scrubs, and gloves, etc. 
    • May require OSHA (bloodborne pathogen) training, SDS, and other safety training as applicable
    • Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
