In this role, you will be responsible for designing, executing, and analyzing tests on battery stacks and systems. This includes tasks from subscale to full-size battery modules, integrated systems, sub-systems, and sub-components.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and analyze tests for battery systems and subcomponents, including performance, reliability, and optimizations.
- Operate and maintain test infrastructure. Includes instrumentation, data acquisition, controls, power electronics, fluid management devices, diagnostic equipment, troubleshooting, and safety checks.
- Compile, analyze, and report test data in an accurate and timely manner.
- Collaborate with R&D scientists and design engineers to support development activities, such as: modeling, root cause investigation, fundamental understanding development, and design validations.
- Participate in FMEA, HAZOP, and other risk assessment activities to develop risk mitigation plans.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Solid understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and electrochemical principles.
- Hands-on experience in lab or engineering operations, including wet-chemistry or electrical testing.
- Comfortable working with chemicals (including acids) and electronics such as battery testing instruments.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with fuel cell or battery testing.
- Experience with model creation for performance prediction.
