- Understand how threat operations in the information environment (OIE) capabilities can impact Marine Expeditionary Brigade (MEB) operations and assist in replicating similar challenges within training scenarios.
- Support Exercise Control (ExCon) officer in charge (OIC), who is assisted by the Design Team Lead to develop, synchronize, and manage storylines and Master Scenario Events List (MSEL) injects to provide realistic training scenarios for training units/audiences.
- Provide analysis, assessments, and recommendations on OIE integration to the Exercise Design Team Lead/ExCon OIC.
- Monitor development of geographically correct and reality-based threat EM/cyber scenarios, threads, and injects to facilitate ground operations for inclusion into Joint Master Scenario Events List (JMSEL) during exercises.
- Monitor and guide the development and application of realistic exercise-related cyber, electronic warfare and influence operations intelligence products that support exercise objectives and influence the operations process (e.g. design process, Marine Corps Planning Process (MCPP), targeting cycle, assessment process).
- Provide OIE Subject Matter Expertise to training audience targeting cycle and kill chain development
- Coordinate and provide OIE training and Subject Matter Expert (SME) support to MCTOG/MAGTFTC students and staff as directed.
- Perform role as HICON and expert response cell ISO exercises as required.
- Contribute to exercise orders, CONOPs, FRAGOs, and operations process cycles across all information related capabilities to provide realistic and appropriate injects ISO developing exercise scenarios.
- Provide assistance and expertise to the exercise design team in the creation of vignettes for exercise integration to increase realism of the utilization of OIE assets throughout the exercise.
- Provide technical advice to the Exercise Control Team, Adversary Force Team, Modeling and Simulations Team, Intelligence Team, and Communication Division.
- Prepare reports, briefs, and documents to support event scenario development and higher and adjacent headquarters functions with regards to OIE integration functions.
- Participate in and conduct reviews and structured walk-throughs of events, operation orders and plans, and information gathering requirements.
- Create and edit documents, analyze problem areas, and suggest feasible solutions.
- Observe and provide training, product/process review, and after-action feedback to training personnel operating at the Secret security level during supported exercises and events.
Education/Skills/Experience Requirements:
- Eight (8) years of operational experience with applicable Military Occupation Specialty (MOS) or Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) and at least one (1) operational deployment.
- Proven expertise in the operational application of at least one traditional Information Related Capability in support of Operations in the Information Environment, to include Space, Cyber, EMS, Civil Military Operations (CMO), and influence operations.
- Experience on a large staff or in exercise development and control is preferred.
- A combination of education and experience that displays the requisite skillset is considered.
Desired Knowledge/Skills
- Must have extensive knowledge of military operations command and control processes, organizations, and systems.
- Must have extensive knowledge of information related capabilities, and adversary capabilities and threat tactics.
- Possess a good working knowledge of computer software applications, such as word processing, database retrieval, slide preparations, and spreadsheet design.
- Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a team.
- Possess self-motivation and a high level of discretion to work effectively under a minimum level of supervision.
- Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects and have a strong attention for detail.
