Assistant Configuration Manager


CoHo Technology Solutions is seeking an
Assistant Configuration Manager supports day-to-day operations and reporting on Applications related configuration management details contained in the various CMDB type configuration repositories. Provide support to the Sr Configuration Manager with organization assistance, planning, and implementation of assigned tasks and provide support for a wholistic configuration and management process improvements. The Asst Configuration Manager supports the management of and information gathering for IT Assets, and systems configurations, providing accurate information on configurations and a sound basis for Application Rationalization and Performance Management.

As needed, the Asst CM will provide analysis to verify configuration records against the infrastructure and architecture assets and correct any exceptions.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):


  • Support the Configuration Management processes for defining requirements and policies
  • Engage with Configuration Management database (CMDB), in accordance with DS requirements
  • Enter/upload Asset data corresponding to CI configuration data, (SQL, ETL, Integration)
  • Support the Sr CM to establish process interfaces to Incident and Problem Management, Change Management, technical support, maintenance and Asset Management processes
  • Review and engage with guidelines for physical and logical separation between development, test and production and the process for deploying and back-out of configuration items
  • Support the Sr CM to track processes for establishing configuration baselines as reference points for rebuilds, and provide ability to document re-establish stable baseline
  • Work with the Sr CM to establish procedures for verifying the accuracy of configuration items, adherence to Configuration Management process and identifying process deficiencies
  • Audit Configuration Management processes and accuracy in maintaining configuration data
  • Support the Sr CM to define asset management strategy and implement Service Asset and CM processes to track and report Configuration Items (CI) dedicated to the CTO network and within the system’s Authorization Boundary
  • Work with Data Analyst / Data Reporter on Power BI visualization/dashboard reporting on Configuration Asset data

Essential Job Requirements:


  • Education:
  •  Bachelor’s degree in related technical field or 5+ years equivalent experience

  •  Required Knowledge/Experience:
  • 4+ years of related professional IT experience
  • 5+ years of general administrative and professional experience
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Must have basic level of knowledge of Enterprise Configuration Management domains, and experience in at least one of those areas.
  • Production Configuration and Data Management standards
  • Data Integration and Analysis methods and standards.
  • Experience with implementing and maintaining configuration changes and changes to the configuration approval processes and tracking, reporting, and administering configurations
  • General knowledge of database design and use of MS SQL
  • Some experience with working with standard CM best practices
  • Effective data reporting skill with data visualization tools
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to interact with customers of all ranks with diplomacy and tact – occasional interaction with customers at the Division Chief level or above
  • Able to independently conduct research to gather proposed solutions to IT requirements
  • Ability to handle large amounts of data and documents and organize/prioritize it properly.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently from home and on-site settings.

  • Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
  • Professional level experience with MS Office tools
  • Data integration strategies (SQL)
  • Knowledge and use of PowerBI
  • Knowledge and use of ServiceNow CM module helpful
