Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Sr. Engineering Tech. This position plays a crucial role in supporting our engineering, accounting, land, and management teams with data management and analysis, as well as contributing to the development of innovative solutions to enhance our operations. This position is full-time, reports to the Area Production Engineering Manager, and will be based out of the corporate office in Irving, TX.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with data management and integration to support engineering, accounting, land, and management staff as needed.
- Collaborate with production engineers to assist in the monitoring and optimization of production operations.
- Utilize Aries software to input, analyze, and interpret production data for the purpose of identifying trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
- Provide technical support for production engineers in the use of Aries software and other production-related tools.
- Support the preparation and analysis of well performance reports, including forecasting and production trend analysis.
- Assist in the creation and management of production models to optimize asset performance.
- Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of production data systems and software tools to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Generate technical reports and provide recommendations based on production data and analysis.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new production workflows or optimization strategies.
- Assist in coordinating well testing, data analysis, and other field activities as required.
- Provide training and mentorship to team members in best practices for production engineering and software utilization.
- Stay current with industry trends and software updates, ensuring efficient use of Aries software and related technologies.
- Collaborate with engineering staff to develop new or improved analysis tools.
- Monitor well production and forecasts, providing valuable insights and recommendations.
- Prepare informative and impactful presentations for executive staff.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to identify cost optimization opportunities through data analysis.
- Utilize your experience in the oil & gas industry to contribute to data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure data security and compliance with relevant industry regulations and best practices.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, Licensure
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Data Analysis, Engineering) is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience within the oil and gas industry, with at least 3 years focused on the use of Aries software.
- Strong knowledge of production engineering principles, well operations, and reservoir management.
- Hands-on experience in data analysis, reporting, and optimization of production processes.
- Proficiency in Aries software, with demonstrated experience in creating models, forecasting, and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Experience in field operations, including well testing and production monitoring, is an asset
