SFI is looking to hire a Junior Project Accountant/Analyst. This position will report to the Program Management Office (PMO) and will be matrixed to at least three of our major contracts as the Project Accountant responsible for all financial data on the program. This position is Hybrid in Bethesda, MD, and requires on-site 3 days a week.The Project Accountant will interface with management to create forecasts, track actuals, and report the financial status of the program. The Project Accountant will work closely with the Project Managers to develop Task Order baselines, Estimates-to-Complete, Estimates-at-Completion, monthly financial status reports, trend analysis, and required corrective action plans.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop forecast files for the assigned contracts
- Create timely and accurate monthly invoices
- Track funding and period of performance data
- Perform review and approval of subcontractor invoices
- Work closely with the Accounting, PMO, and Contracts organizations to assess profitability and financial impacts on programs
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Business, Finance, or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of related experience
- Experience in job costing, billing, expenses, and revenue recognition is a plus
- Experience with advanced Excel features and pivot tables
- Self-motivated and able to work cross-functionally with little supervision
- Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills required.
- Well-organized and detail-oriented
- Strong work ethic, analytical and problem-solving skills

- The salary for this position is $40,000 - $62,000 annually
