About the role:
You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing our data warehouse solutions on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our data infrastructure meets the demands of our rapidly growing business and empowers data-driven decision-making. This is a hybrid role requiring candidates to be able to work out of one of our US offices located in Chagrin Falls, OH; Reston, VA; and Somerville, MA.
What you will do:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data warehouse solutions using Google BigQuery.
- Design and implement dimensional and normalized data models that align with business needs and analytics requirements.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and analysts to understand reporting and analytical needs and translate those into effective data models.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across different data marts, tables, and views.
- Optimize data warehouse performance by fine-tuning queries, optimizing data models, and implementing best practices for data partitioning and clustering.
- Implement data governance policies and security controls to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Build and manage Looker dashboards and reports, ensuring data is presented in a clear and actionable format.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in data warehousing and cloud computing and evaluate their potential impact on our data infrastructure.
What you will bring:
- Strong SQL skills and proficiency in data modeling concepts and techniques.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala for building data pipelines and automation scripts.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts (OLAP, ETL, data lakes, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on data quality, integrity, and performance.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
