Description
Exercise overriding authority and discretion (Person in Charge) to take whatever action required to ensure the safety of the crew, the offshore installation and the environment. Manage the crew and resources available to achieve optimum performance so as to ensure all operations are carried out in a safe, efficient and productive manner. Ensure that all Company Policies and Procedures are communicated, understood and adhered to by all personnel on the offshore installation. The OIM may delegate authority for various duties on board the Offshore Installation to other personnel onboard.
The OIM must always ensure by instructions and controls that the person so empowered is competent, understands and agrees to the duties given, and that performance of such duties is executed properly at all times. However, no delegation of authority or any assistance offered, or given, absolves the OIM from his/her responsibility. The ultimate authority always rests with the OIM.Accountable for providing an accurate daily report, reporting any incidents to onshore management, in a timely manner and according to current procedure. Accountable to ensure onboard compliance with relevant rules and regulations, i.e.
Flag, Class, national and international standards, etc. Responsible for implementing, verifying and reviewing the Company's policies through the provisions stated in the Company Management System. Accountable for the control and update of all documentation and certification of the Offshore Installation, associated with the Class and Flag authority as per IMO regulations; Responsible for completion of training and competency assessment, verification and performance evaluation of direct report subordinates; Responsible for performance management, appraisal and corrective feedback for direct report subordinates; Responsible for shaping a healthy safety culture on board, proactively communicating and maintaining a positive working environment;While consulting with the Heads Of Department prepare the Facility budget and control expenditure accordingly.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical / Production Engineering or similar Ideally 10 or more years of production and operations experience in GabonIdeally experience from offshore and FPSO industryPreferably previous experience from working in a multicultural environmentAbility to function independently and in a team.Good interpersonal skills as well as good judgementExcellent spoken and written communication skills.Ability to communicate at all levelsProficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications as Excel and WordKnowledge of a multitude of engineering tools including economic evaluation, and production engineeringFluent in English (oral and written)Fluent in French (oral and written)
