Description
Responsible for all construction activities relative to the part (or full) of the FPSO construction, defined based on discipline (e.g. Structure / Piping / EIT) or area (e.g. specific module(s) / Engine Room / LQ / Turret).Ensure that all construction related tasks are undertaken to the required standard and performed in a safe, productive manner (compliance with all statutory or legislative requirements related to OH&S, environment, etc.) .Coordination of sub-contractors, incorporating HSSE requirements into the construction planning and execution .Interface with Engineering, Supply Chain and Project HSEQ to ensure timely deliverables to support the Construction Schedule, and assist in reviews of design specifications, shop drawings and contractual requirements.Preparation of progress reports and reports related to safety and environmental hazards, near misses and accidents .Ensure innovation and continuous improvement for the project works, through the development of information, practices and procedures .Act as a resource for of new employees and less experienced colleagues and consultants .Assist in the identification and preparation of construction related change orders .Assist as required, in arranging for work permits, JSA’s, safety tests and actions with regard to safety .Establish and maintain good hand-over routines.Keep close dialog on a regular basis with the units OIM concerning but not limited to the following issues:
- Units overall operation mode and plans for execution of activities .
- General and specific HSE issues and execution of the Permit to Work regime .
- Mobilization and demobilization of personnel and equipment .
- Requirements for bed space and availability including catering .
- Logistics that may interfere with operation of unit and/or project activities .
- Overall and Activity specific Schedule.
Ensure that all site activities are performed in compliance with the governing safety standards and safety management system:
- The Permit to Work system is adhered to for all project activities .
- Focus on safety awareness in all aspects of all activities .
- All relevant policies, procedures/task plans and check lists are available and communicated to relevant personnel.
- Supervise contractor’s adherence to safety and take action as appropriate.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.B.SC/M.SC in relevant subject or Chief Engineer/Technical Manager .Long relevant experience may replace formal education.Ideally 10+ years of relevant experience within the shipping and offshore industry .Previous experience with construction of FPSO and/or oil/gas facility, including platform downstream facility.Team player with the ability to lead .Proactive and able to work independently, applying a structured and systematic approach .Strong communication skills and the ability to ask relevant questions and provide thorough explanations .Ability to deliver in a high pressure, fast-paced project environment .Ability to deliver high quality work on time .Ability to work in a multidisciplinary / multinational environment .
