What you will do:


As a Tech Lead for our cross-product services team, you will become a part of a team that is focused on optimizing the efficiency of our finance, sales and other operational teams. As one of the founding members of this team, you'll have the opportunity to shape its direction and strategy, while also initially contributing as a backend developer. In this role, you will be part of a product trio, where you'll act as the technical partner to a product manager and designer.

Where you will have impact:


  • Execute and drive a development roadmap together with your team
  • Work closely together with the product manager and designer of your product trio to define and manage the roadmap of your domain.
  • Play a leading role during the development phase, by facilitating the relevant scrum ceremonies, as well as ensuring the dev team has all the context needed for a successful implementation
  • Actively participate in the product ideation process by suggesting product improvements, translating product goals and product feedback into high level functional designs, and be a critical voice in the process
  • Represent and communicate the technical impact of your roadmap both to fellow engineering teams as well as other non-technical stakeholders
  • Build up a deep knowledge and understanding about repositories and capabilities of related teams (design, API) and advise them during developments
  • Be the technical go-to-person for your domain
  • Review technical issues and escalations and take action where necessary
  • Coach new engineers into understanding the technical background of your domain
  • Lead technology & architectural choices in your domain
  • Design, scope and implement complex features that may not be well defined
  • Have strong, well-founded opinions about how to build software in your domain, but be adaptable and open to new ideas
  • Have a long term vision on the technical capabilities, growth and the role of the team
  • Grow a great team
  • Hire, develop and coach an exceptional team of engineers.
  • Coach team members on personal and professional development
  • Plan and prioritize work within your domain roadmap(s), absorbing planning complexity for team members

About our team:


You’ll be joining a new dev team & product trio team named Cross-Product Services. Their primary goal is to improve efficiency of our finance, sales & other operational teams by automating steps that are currently taken manually. The team will do this by building & improving client-facing product modules spanning the entire Lighthouse product portfolio. Examples are payment, user management, access management, one-click setup, etc. You will be a partner towards business teams to fulfill your team’s goal, as well as towards other product dev teams, supporting their work by providing this service layer functionality. 

Who you are:


  • At least 5 years of professional experience as a backend developer
  • Experience writing Python
  • Experience working with web application frameworks (Django, Flask, FastAPI, Express. Ruby on Rails, Laravel, Phoenix,...) 
  • Experience in shaping and managing a backlog of a product or technical domain
  • Experience in people management
  • Comfortable guiding and coordinate work among a team of both juniors and seniors
  • Ability to coach your team, both the juniors and seniors
  • Actively addresses problems when identified and assumes responsibility for work 
  • Able to lead, prioritize, delegate and inspire in an ambiguous, highly dynamic, and highly demanding technology environment
  • A clear communicator, fluent in English

  • Knowledge of the Django framework
  • Experience writing Go
  • Experience with frontend development
