AWS Developer Intern, #811

Clearance:

Must be able to obtain a public trust clearance or higher as required
Are you ready to dive into the future of app development? We're building cutting-edge, serverless applications on AWS with a sleek React front-end, and we need a Developer Intern who’s eager to learn, experiment, and help us make it all run like clockwork. As our Developer Intern, you'll get hands-on experience with the latest in cloud technologies, React, and serverless architectures. You’ll work alongside a talented team to maintain, enhance, and scale our applications, while picking up valuable skills that will last you a lifetime.

Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Code, Deploy, Repeat: Help build and deploy serverless apps using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, and more. If it's serverless, you're on it!
  • React Front-End: Contribute to the development of modern, responsive UIs with React, integrating them seamlessly with our serverless back-end.
  • Cloud Configuration: Work with AWS services to create, configure, and monitor serverless components (don’t worry, we’ll teach you the ropes!).
  • Troubleshooting & Debugging: Investigate bugs and performance issues—think of yourself as a digital detective solving the mysteries of the cloud.
  • Automation: Assist in automating deployment pipelines with AWS CI/CD tools like CodeCommit, CodeBuild, or other DevOps tools.
  • Collaboration: Work with developers, designers, and product managers in an agile environment. Learn how to balance technical execution with user experience and business requirements.
  • Learning & Growing: Take part in regular knowledge sharing sessions and team discussions to grow your understanding of AWS, serverless, and modern JavaScript development.

Dev Technology Group interns will work on a dynamic software development project in support of a government client. This is an opportunity to contribute to improving software development outcomes for our client, and to observe and participate in many aspects of an Agile software development project. Interns will also work on a technical intern project with the rest of the internship team.

  • Practice Agile methodology by attending all Scrum-related meetings, such as daily stand-ups, weekly sprint planning, and weekly retros
  • Work with fellow summer interns on a technically focused project and present the groups' results to the executive team at the end of the program. Past projects have included creating a mentorship web application, designing a wellness mobile application, and creating a technical environment as well as reaching out to local universities regarding a hackathon/tech challenge.
  • Attend corporate-level meetings to learn about other areas of the business, such as business development, finance, and project management

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Current enrollment in college/university pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Basic Coding Knowledge: Familiarity with JavaScript (ES6+) and React is great, but if you’re still getting comfortable, that’s okay too—just bring a willingness to learn!
  • Cloud Curiosity: Knowledge of AWS services (like Lambda, API Gateway, S3) or interest in serverless computing is a plus, but don’t worry, we’ll help you learn.
  • Passion for Problem-Solving: You love tackling challenges and figuring out how to make things work—especially when they don’t at first.
  • Attention to Detail: From clean code to AWS configurations, you know that the small things can make a big difference.
  • Team Player: Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. You’ll ask questions, share your ideas, and help others along the way.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Rising Junior or Senior

Perks:

  • Learning on the Job: Get direct experience working with AWS, serverless technologies, and React, all while building real-world applications.
  • Mentorship: You’ll work closely with experienced developers who’ll guide you through challenges and help you grow into a full-fledged developer.
  • Flexible Work Environment: Whether you’re working from the office or remotely, we’ll make sure you have the tools and support you need to succeed.
  • Hands-On Experience: Build apps that actually matter—get your hands dirty with full-stack development and cloud architecture from day one!

If you’re passionate about cloud computing, serverless architectures, and front-end development, and you’re looking for an internship where you can make an impact, apply now! We can’t wait to see what you’ll bring to the tableInterns will be based out of our headquarters in Reston, Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity for those seeking professional experience in software development, sysadmin, DevOps, or related field.
