Assistant Vice President Clinical Trials and Real-World Evidence
What you will be doing:
The Assistant Vice President, Clinical Trials and Real-World Evidence will oversee the vision strategy and operational planning for clinical trials conducted by Premier, Inc. on behalf of study sponsors. This leader provides direction within the Premier Applied Sciences leadership team while mentoring and developing direct reports aligned with Clinical Trials Innovations (CTI) initiatives. These initiatives include protocol modeling and feasibility reviews, study site identification, screening, engagement, and feasibility, as well as subject/patient identification leveraging Premier’s advanced analytics capabilities on both structured and unstructured healthcare datasets.
This individual will assume primary responsibility for research study design, consulting internal resources and external stakeholders.This individual has the skills and understanding of how clinical research is conducted from the sponsor, site, and clinical trial vendor perspectives. In addition, the Assistant Vice President is knowledgeable in the use of advanced analytics technology to enhance operational conduct of clinical studies for study participants, healthcare partners, and study sponsors. The Assistant Vice President will blend and integrate the use of multiple data sources, including large-scale real-world data sets, electronic health records and natural language processing and leverage machine learning and artificial intelligence for data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibility #1– 30%
Operations & Business Development
In collaboration with the business development team, strategically drive client discussions
Translate stakeholder objectives into research opportunities
Establish research agenda and determine, organize, and prioritize projects
Ensures scientifically valid and feasible project outcomes
Ensure that data and deliverables meet internal and external clients’ expectations
Responsibility #2 – 60%
Develop and Lead Clinical Trial Strategy, Solution Design and Leadership over projects
Create 5 year strategic plan to grow and evolve Clinical Trial Innovations
Develop increased capabilities in clinical trials delivery, from recruitment to trial execution
Support the design of Clinical Trial Innovations solutions based on client needs including development of framework, strategic outlook, client needs and future technologies
Protocol modeling and feasibility reviews
Identify sites through screening, engagement, and feasibility
Identification of subject/patients leveraging Premier’s advanced analytics capabilities
Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Track content deliverables and scope of work
Lead and create content deliverables and project scope
Responsibility #3 – 10%
Professional development and increased health system members engagement
Provide leadership guidance to PAS’s research collaborative, PIRC and serve as liaison to other Premier’s Member collaboratives
Attend conferences and national meetings to network with key thought leaders in field
Provide thought leadership in medical care delivery via contributions to peer reviewed journals, industry blogs, and other appropriate forums

Jobs are sedentary if movement is required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.Premier’s compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees.
Premier’s internal salary range for this role is $155,000 - $289,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location.
