Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Data Engineer to join one of our top-tier Client projects. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines, ensuring robust data infrastructure, and contributing to strategic data initiatives. You will leverage your expertise in Python/C#, MongoDB, SQL, and PowerBI, along with other technologies, to drive impactful data solutions, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to meet organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Data Architecture Design: Creating robust and scalable architectures to manage the flow and storage of data across the organization.
- ETL Processes: Developing and managing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to ensure data is accurately integrated from various sources into data warehouses or lakes.
- Data Pipeline Development: Constructing automated pipelines for data processing and transformation, ensuring smooth data flow and timely availability for analysis.
- Database Management: Administering databases and ensuring their performance, integrity, and security.
- Data Quality and Governance: Implementing data validation, cleansing, and governance practices to maintain high-quality and reliable data.
- Collaboration: Working closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide support in their analytical tasks.
- Performance Optimization: Monitoring and optimizing data systems for improved performance and efficiency.
- Tool and Technology Integration: Evaluating and integrating new tools and technologies to enhance data management capabilities.
Qualifications
Technical skills:
- 5+ years of work experience as a Data Engineer with Python and/or C#.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software development principles.
- 5+ years of experience with SQL, including database design, optimization, and query performance tuning.
- 3+ years of experience with MongoDB, demonstrating proficiency in NoSQL database management and data modeling.
- At least 1 year of experience with Power BI, including report creation, data visualization, and dashboard development.
Soft skills:
- Able to work through ambiguity in a fast-paced, dynamically changing business environment with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a desire to learn and teach.
- Excellent understanding of development processes and agile methodologies.
- Enthusiastic, highly motivated, and able to learn quickly.
- A willingness to get your hands dirty - you enjoy a scrappy, entrepreneurial environment where everyone pitches in to get the job done.
Bonus skills:
- Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
