Agent Area Lead to take charge and lead the charge in a rapidly growing region. As the Area Lead, you'll be the driving force behind ensuring that all agents in your area have everything they need to successfully promote Mukuru services and sign-up new customers. You’ll be responsible and accountable for leading team leaders and field agents across your area, ensuring they are fully onboarded, supported, and consistently meeting their performance goals.This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves coaching and developing others, and is passionate about finding new opportunities for growth.

You'll be tasked with implementing sales strategies, managing marketing collateral, scouting new areas for agent deployment, and tracking agent performance to help your team reach their full potential.

Duties and Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):


Implementing Sales Strategy:


  • Lead the implementation of growth and brand strategy in allotted area.
  • Lead activations and drive marketing campaigns in allotted area.
  • Custodianship of the Mukuru brand and maintenance of that standard.
  • Engage with potential and existing customers to advise on and provide product support.

Supervising Agent Team:


  • Conduct frequent audits of sales agent sites.
  • Periodically engage with customers to assess the quality of service delivered by agents and provide feedback to agent team.
  • Provide guidance and support to agent team in the execution of their duties.
  • Liaise with HR and Sales Department Management to resolve any staff issues.
  • Solve escalated queries.

Agent Recruitment, Training, and Onboarding:


  • Identify potential new agents and engage with approval from Regional Sales Supervisor.
  • Facilitate training for new and existing agents periodically in line with Training Lead’s requirements.
  • Assist with onboarding new agents, including setting up devices and leading system walkthroughs.

Monitoring Agent Performance and Coaching Towards Stretch Goals:


  • Monitor individual team member’s performance and targets.
  • Prepare for and lead weekly team meetings to discuss product performance.
  • Coach agents towards stretch goals.

Managing Marketing Collateral:


  • Manage marketing stock.
  • Ensure sufficient stock of marketing collateral is available.
  • Assist with the distribution of branded material to agents.

Key Requirements


  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • National Diploma or Advanced Certificate
  • 1 Year Experience in a Sales Field
  • 1 Year Experience in the Financial Services Environment
  • 1 Year Experience in Conducting Skills Gap Analysis and/or Training
  • Knowledge of how to generate marketing collateral
  • Knowledge of Mukuru products and services
  • Knowledge of KYC processes and guidelines
  • Verbal and written communication skills
