Innovation Project Manager
Position Summary
This role sits within AMBSE’s Innovation Accelerator, a lean team applying dedicated resources & design thinking to address opportunities through creative solutions centered around our fans & clubs.The Innovation Project Manager owns the development, maintenance, and implementation of project plans that execute AMBSE’s innovation vision & strategic goals. These plans span the entire project lifecycle (from initiation through closure) & are built to accommodate this team’s highly dynamic, iterative ways of working.
This role partners across other departments & business units to deploy project management best practices, improve execution (on time, on budget) & elevate performance of large, diverse project teams.Our ideal candidate is obsessed with enabling partners & delivering impact through well-crafted plans, as well as bringing a passion for exploring new ideas & challenging the status quo into their daily work.This role will be responsible for:
- Creating project plans & documentation defining scope, objectives, outcomes/metrics
- Preparing & adhering to budgets based on project scope; managing change requests
- Estimating resource requirements efficiently & accurately
- Proactively identifying blockers, constraints & bottlenecks; proposing mitigating actions
- Aligning Innovation Accelerator team resources against near- & long-term project needs (setting task prioritization & providing direction to ensure timely, quality output)
- Setting & managing stakeholder expectations, with both internal & external parties
- Updating plans & tracking progress across the team’s portfolio of innovation initiatives
- Supporting the design-led, user-centric innovation process (ideation, research, insights)
- Serving as a role model & champion of project management excellence across AMBSE
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Expertise in project management processes and methodologies
- Proven track record of collaborating with and leading cross-functional teams of varying sizes
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing conditions – quickly modifying plans to minimize disruption
- Skilled at demonstrating the value of new ideas, confidently presenting solutions while remaining empathetic to alternate perspectives
- Proficient in preparing detailed presentations & reporting key findings
- Ability to support events (often during nights/weekends) around project milestones & launches
- Exceptional interpersonal skills combined with high emotional intelligence
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree & CAPM required, PMP certification preferred
- 3–5 years of project management experience involving design & execution of project plans
- Track record of effectively managing concurrent projects in fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Familiarity & ability to use project planning tools (Smartsheet, asana, MS Project, …)
- Excellent time management, prioritization, written & verbal communication skills
- Desire to tackle ambiguous, highly-challenging work to create value through innovation
- Working knowledge of the sports & entertainment or hospitality industries
