Starlab Space LLC is a US-led transatlantic joint venture between Voyager Space, Airbus, Mitsubishi Corporation, MDA and Plantir, that is designing, building, and will operate the Starlab commercial space station. Starlab will serve a global customer base of space agencies, researchers, andcompanies, ensuring a continued human presence in low-Earth orbit and a seamless transition of microgravity science and research from the International Space Station into the new commercial space station era.

The successful candidate will join the team in Houston and work in a transnational environment with activities done in several sites across US and Europe. This job requires a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Position Description: 


The Program Financial Analyst will support the Starlab Program by implementing and managing financial systems and processes, including Earned Value Management (EVM) and EACs. This role will partner closely with program managers and the finance team to ensure accurate forecasting, budgeting, and costanalysis, while providing actionable insights to improve program performance. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, advanced knowledge of EVM systems, and a proven ability to present financial information effectively at all levels of the organization. Job holder will functionally be reporting to Program Financial Controller organization and operationally part of the Program organization as a business partner.

Responsibilities: 


  • Develop and administer Starlab’s Earned Value Management System (EVMS), ensuring compliance with government and institutional customer requirements.
  • Create and maintain resource forecasts and Estimates at Completion (EACs) for control accounts, budgets, and functions, ensuring accuracy and alignment with program objectives.
  • Analyze and maintain cost and schedule performance baselines, including earned value and variance analyses, and provide detailed reports on trends and key metrics.
  • Coordinate with program and finance teams to develop strategies to improve financial performance, leveraging key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial data.
  • Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting and planning processes, including financial forecasts, variance analysis, and program performance reviews.
  • Partner with program managers to ensure all financial activities align with the Work Breakdown
  • Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS), optimizing cost allocation and schedule adherence.
  • Develop and deliver presentations of financial data and program performance metrics to stakeholders at various levels of management.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks, proposing recommendations to enhance financial performance projections and ensure program success. Collaborate with work package managers /
  • IPT Mangers to optimize financial performance, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Develop an extensive program risk reporting template to provide to Central or Program Controllers or CFO and adhoc support on different financial and operational analysis when required

Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or another analytical field.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in program finance, cost accounting, or related roles.
  • Proficiency in Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), such as Deltek Cobra, Costpoint, or custom-built applications.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning processes, budgeting, and forecasting tools.
  • Knowledge of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), rolling wave planning, and account types.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced, start-up environments, with a proven track record of successful stakeholder management in government or institutional setups.
  • Experience in anticipating, assessing, and mitigating program risks.

Preferences


:

  • Experience in R&D or Manufacturing programs, preferably within the aerospace industry.
  • EVMS or PMP certification.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Macros, INDEXMATCH, VLookups, and complex data analysis techniques.

  • Familiarity with ERP migration processes, EVMS tool development, and other digital infrastructure

transitions.

Travel Required:


  • 5-10% Domestic and International

Clearance:


  • None. Active DoD security clearance preferred.

Decision Making, Complexity:


  • Empowered to make recommendations regarding financial performance projections, cost allocation,

and EAC adjustments.

  • Responsible for implementing and managing program financial strategies to ensure alignment with

Starlab’s long-term goals.

Organizational information:


  • Reports to: Sr. Program/Program Financial Controller
  • Works closely with: Program Manager, IPT Leads, Procurement, and the Finance Team
