Position Summary:
As a Sales Development Representative at Carbo Ceramics, you will be the catalyst for growth, identifying and creating new business opportunities in a dynamic and innovative industry. Your role will involve engaging with potential clients, showcasing our cutting-edge solutions, and building strong relationships to drive sales and market expansion.
Key Roles / Responsibilities:
- Identify, target, and generate new business opportunities through proactive outreach via calls and emails.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to manage lead generation campaigns and qualify inbound leads.
- Build and nurture relationships with prospective and existing clients, becoming a trusted advisor.
- Present our product offerings to decision-makers, demonstrating how our solutions address their needs.
- Maintain an organized pipeline of prospects, ensuring timely follow-up and continuous engagement.
- Gather market feedback to refine messaging and product offerings, contributing to overall strategy.
- Engage with distributor sales representatives and managers to create pull-through demand.
- Service and maintain relationships with existing clients to drive satisfaction and retention.
- Meet established goals for territory development and sales quotas.
- Develop extensive product knowledge and stay informed on industry trends.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in business development or B2B sales (2+ years preferred).
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in an industrial environment, particularly with Metalworking Fluids, CNC Machining, or Manufacturing is a plus.
- Engaging personality with strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer applications.
- Willingness to travel overnight as required.
- 2 or 4-year college degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Relevant certifications in sales or business development are advantageous.
- Background in communications, marketing, sales, or business is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Positions self to install equipment, including under desks.
- Moves throughout the building to access files.
- Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.
- Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.
- Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.
- Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
