Position Summary:

 As a Sales Development Representative at Carbo Ceramics, you will be the catalyst for growth, identifying and creating new business opportunities in a dynamic and innovative industry. Your role will involve engaging with potential clients, showcasing our cutting-edge solutions, and building strong relationships to drive sales and market expansion.
Key Roles / Responsibilities: 

  • Identify, target, and generate new business opportunities through proactive outreach via calls and emails.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to manage lead generation campaigns and qualify inbound leads.
  • Build and nurture relationships with prospective and existing clients, becoming a trusted advisor.
  • Present our product offerings to decision-makers, demonstrating how our solutions address their needs.
  • Maintain an organized pipeline of prospects, ensuring timely follow-up and continuous engagement.
  • Gather market feedback to refine messaging and product offerings, contributing to overall strategy.
  • Engage with distributor sales representatives and managers to create pull-through demand.
  • Service and maintain relationships with existing clients to drive satisfaction and retention.
  • Meet established goals for territory development and sales quotas.
  • Develop extensive product knowledge and stay informed on industry trends.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:


  •  Proven experience in business development or B2B sales (2+ years preferred).
  •  Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  •  Experience in an industrial environment, particularly with Metalworking Fluids, CNC Machining, or Manufacturing is a plus.
  • Engaging personality with strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
  •  Self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer applications.
  • Willingness to travel overnight as required.
  • 2 or 4-year college degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Relevant certifications in sales or business development are advantageous.
  • Background in communications, marketing, sales, or business is a plus.

Working Conditions:


  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Positions self to install equipment, including under desks.
  • Moves throughout the building to access files.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions. 
  • Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions. 
  • Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed. 
  • Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
