Position Summary
The Director of Mortgage Lending Sales is the Leader in selling and marketing our retail residential mortgage loan products and services. This position will lead all retail mortgage sales and marketing efforts within our nine (9) county geographic areas and assist the mortgage lending department’s strategic plan and growth priorities. This position requires a complete and thorough knowledge and understanding of mortgage sales, marketing management, and growth strategies. It will influence the mortgage lending’s product and pricing menus and be directly involved in the loan origination system (LOS) setup.
They will have direct management of the retail sales team. This role is a part of Mortgage Lending’s key Leaders and works with a multitude of business partners both internally and externally.

Sales and Marketing
Oversee the development of new residential mortgage business, expanding existing business relationships, and servicing new members and current members.
Develop an annual marketing strategy to meet and exceed established sales goals and objectives for the residential mortgage lending retail sales team in the assigned geographic area.
Must be heavily active and participate in geographic area sales and marketing events and networking functions; actively attend nine-county area sales events and activities supporting sales, recruiting, and marketing our products and organization.
Keep informed of new residential mortgage products and trends in the local real estate market to incorporate them into the residential mortgage sales program.
Actively sell, market, and build long-term relationships and referral sources with new and existing Realtor and Builder relationships.
Recruiting
Directly responsible for calling and marketing to prospective retail sales team members.
Evaluate recruiting trends and develop strategic recruiting and hiring offerings that meet the needs of the new sales requirements to compete and succeed in this mortgage lending space.
Actively participates and recruits in local and state mortgage banking, realtor, and builder trade associations.
Serves as primary contact for all retail sales recruiting efforts, adapting to the market conditions, and developing a plan to execute effectively, consistently recruiting, and hiring new retail sales team members.
Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective retail sales team members and industry professionals who assist with our business development goals and growth.
Sales Management
Lead, manage, and mentor the retail sales team to achieve monthly and yearly sales volume objectives while meeting or exceeding organization goals and maintaining budgetary requirements.
Manage, lead, and motivate mortgage Loan Officers to ensure they support our prospective and current members and close loans at their maximum potential while maintaining pipeline management and providing excellent member communication.
Lead and develop retail sales team members to create new business opportunities and/or improve and enhance existing business relationships.
Respond to and guide pricing competitiveness and pricing exceptions for and from the retail sales team. Can make revenue decisions while considering the competitive nature of each request and have the capacity to communicate effectively to the secondary marketing department and higher.
Department Policies & Reporting
Develop, manage, and maintain all mortgage lending retail sales, recruiting, and marketing reporting requirements. Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports and ensure all appropriate parties receive information.
Develop and maintain all mortgage retail sales lending policies and procedures. Must actively keep policies current, make the appropriate changes, and submit for approval expediently.
Work in conjunction with compliance and legal to ensure accountability and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations concerning mortgage lending, retail sales, marketing, and recruiting.
Work closely with all mortgage lending teams to ensure all LOS retail sales-related required system changes are tested and complete. Will be the primary lead for signing-off on all sales-related LOS testing requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)
Knowledge of Wellby’s organizational functions and general operating policies and procedures.
Knowledge of general office procedures and practices, business English, spelling, punctuation, and arithmetic.
Knowledge of personal computer, utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and other mortgage loan origination software.
Knowledge and understanding of mortgage pricing and rate sheets.
Knowledge and understanding of mortgage products and underwriting guidelines.
Skilled in having constructive conversations with leadership around performance, development, and helping to support business goals.
Skilled in operating computer equipment and general office machines such as personal computers, copiers, projection equipment, audio/video, Microsoft Teams, Zoom Video Communications, and adding devices.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Sales & Marketing, or a related field required.
Minimum of seven (7) plus years of experience specific to mortgage sales (will consider 10 years of mortgage and sales experience) with a proven record of leading a mortgage sales team. One year of experience maybe substituted for one year of required education.
Minimum of three (3) plus years of experience specific to mortgage marketing, promoting an organization, and establishing mortgage loan officer marketing strategies.
Extensive experience working with mortgage sales, loan officers, and loan officer assistants.
LOS and Product and Pricing Engine experience required with system integration knowledge.
Strong working knowledge and understanding of mortgage industry governance and compliance.
Ability to acquire NMLS License
Valid Texas Driver’s License or obtained within 30 days of hire
