BreakForth Solutions is seeking a Part-Time Decision Forcing Case (DFC) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team of dynamic professionals. Please apply today! Essential Functions
- Have experience with Marine Corps training and education programs and comprehensive knowledge of the Marine Corps training and education system, training philosophy and implementation policies.
- Familiar with the Marine Corps training and education environment.
- DFC SME must have documented experience in the development of programs of instruction, related materials and the administration associated with a Formal Learning Center.
- DFC SME must demonstrate working knowledge of current Marine Corps training policy and procedures through documented previous work experience.
- The DFC SME must be familiar with the professional military education institution/program (resident/non-resident), such as would be experienced at the Expeditionary Warfare School, Command and Staff College, Staff Noncommissioned Officer Academy, Advanced Leadership School or equivalent levels.
- Capable of working efficiently in a military staff environment that requires coordination both internally and externally with TECOM, Training Command, and Educational Command in Quantico.
- Must be familiar with and adhere to established command and staff procedures especially those involving staff coordination and chain of command.
- Have the ability to design and develop training courses or course materials, plan and conduct training program evaluations, and have knowledge and experience in the development, execution and assessment of training plans and training events from platoon to division level.
- SME must have demonstrated background in developing Decision Forcing Cases employing historical vignettes to achieve experiential learning outcomes for students.
Education/Skills/Experience Requirements:
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience is required and a minimum of 7 years of experience in USMC organizational processes at the regimental/base level or above to include a thorough understanding of functional roles and responsibilities of staff areas.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in employing and supervising the employment of various types of USMC forces/capabilities (including reserve component).
- A minimum of 4 years of experience with the policies, procedures, and methods associated with the creation of USMC doctrine and the development of USMC training standards.
- Documented experience in the management and execution of Marine Corps training and education programs and comprehensive knowledge of the Marine Corps training and education system, training philosophy and implementation policies.
- Capable of working efficiently in a military staff environment that requires coordination within MCTOG, TECOM and external commands and organizations.
- Familiar with and adheres to established command and staff procedures especially those involving staff coordination and chain of command.
- Excellent command of the English language; written and verbal
- SME must be a graduate of Command and Staff or equivalent and has extensive knowledge of the Service’s warfighting philosophy and GCE doctrine across the range of military operations.
- Secret Security Clearance Required
Desired Knowledge/Skills
- Expert knowledge of the roles and missions of various types of USMC forces/capabilities (including reserve component), their employment, and how they contribute to USMC operations.
- In-depth understanding of USMC warfighting history, doctrine, warfighting functions, commander and staff operations, and Marine Corps procedures and responsibilities across all levels of war.
- Must possess knowledge of USMC requirements and capabilities in executing combat operations across the ROMO, including how the USMC executes operations in support of USMC MAGTF and Joint Force operations.
- Must possess knowledge of USMC emerging concepts and new doctrine in order to fulfill the GCE Proponent doctrine integration functions throughout the USMC and Joint doctrine communities.
- Must possess knowledge of the Marine Corps Doctrine Development Process, military staffing, documentation procedures, and military administrative formats.
- Must possess knowledge of other services (Air Force, Navy, and Army) combat operations doctrine to ensure thorough linkage between USMC and Joint Service Operations Doctrine.
- Must be an expert in both oral and in written communications in order to facilitate the conversion of concepts into doctrinal statements, manuals and publications.
- Must possesshigh levels of initiative, self-direction, and discretion to work effectively under a minimum level of supervision to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to multi-task efficiently and work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects and have a strong attention for detail.
