This position is located within the Finance Department of 365 Retail Markets, and reports to the Senior Manager of Revenue Operations. The Accounting Assistant - AR & Cash Applications is primarily responsible for applying customer received funds to open AR balances.
There are also other daily tasks involving General Accounting functions, including A/R, customer account maintenance, and necessary reporting.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Apply customer payments on accounts including ACH and Wire received through bank, checks received in office, and credit card payments
- Prepare account detail reports for collection activities, process and record credit card and ACH payments, and analyze customer accounts
- Process daily bank deposits and occasional bank runs
- Maintain accounting files including filing as needed, scanning documents, attaching documents in ERP
- Month end duties including account reconciliation, customer subscription fee calculations, import functions into ERP, report generation, and other tasks as required
- Establish and update process documents for all functions performed
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of daily work and extra projects
- Conduct research on discrepancies and make appropriate corrections or adjustments
- Monthly account analysis, trend analysis, and special projects
- Perform other duties and assignments as required
- Will be required to cross train many areas of Accounting Specialist daily responsibilities
- Position responsibilities may increase over time
Requirements
- Background in accounting preferred with minimum 5 years accounting experience with customer accounts, receivables, and cash application
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook) – emphasis on Excel skills
- Works effectively and maintains good working relationships with peers
- Ability to work in fast paced environment and meet tight deadlines while working independently or with a team
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to work on new projects, often several at a time
- Is attentive to detail, focused, thorough, organized, and accurate
- This position is hybrid and requires work in the office 2-3 days per week minimum
