Software Development Engineer Co-op in Lake Orion, Michigan.
Job Summary
The Software Development Engineer Co-op role will focus on development of the ABS internal data processing and analysis tool. Activities include: optimizing the tool; adding functionality; improving the user interface; testing and controlling releases of new versions; and enabling ABS team members to more effectively process, analyze, and visual data.
Responsibilities
- Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
- Maintain the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using ‘big data’ technologies.
- Create data tools for analytics and validation team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.
- Design manual and automated test procedures to evaluate each software product.
- Build, code, and implement software evaluation test programs.
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.

Position
Qualifications
- Student working towards a Computer Science Engineering or other relevant degree.
- Must be able to work between 15-25 hours per week.
- Must possess and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Must fulfill 24 credit hours in one calendar year.
- Self-motivated problem solver, pays attention to the details, challenges the status quo, and strives for continuous improvement.
- Contributes to team growth by collaborating with cross-function teams and completing projects in a timely manner.
- Abides by safety standards and protocols.
- Co-op students may be eligible to work up to 4 years if enrolled in a college or university and fulfill the criteria noted above.
