We are looking for a Production Planner to join our team. The goal of the position is to translate the master production schedule into an executable plan, issue work orders to the shop floor, ensure there are materials available to conduct the work and track status of orders. If obstacles arise, use lean production techniques to problem solve with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement effective solutions to prevent reoccurrence.Due to the nature of the work required for this position, this is an onsite opportunity.

You will be required to work from our Mountain View office.

Responsibilities:


  • Plan, schedule, and monitor the flow of material through the production cycle.
  • Monitor the efficient movement of materials with procurement, production and quality.
  • Create work-orders, initiates kitting requirements and provides status information using the in-house system.
  • Ensure materials, parts and equipment are in place to execute production.
  • Schedule shifts and workers to provide proper coverage to execute the work.
  • Create reports on production status and material shortages.
  • Manage new part/production introductions into the procurement and production plans.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain Management team members regarding processes effectiveness and timing.
  • Manage special projects to implement fleet retrofit projects from a supply chain perspective.
  • Create and coordinate supply chain optimization solutions.
  • Assist in ERP implementation. Implement processes around the ERP interface and use MRP/MES systems for evaluating demand and executing purchasing plans.
  • Problem solve to eliminate recurring production disruptions, improve productivity and reduce costs.
  • Coordinate the introduction of new BOM parts, assemblies and materials in the production plan.
  • Manage or collaborate with receiving and inventory team members and participate in creating business processes around receiving, kitting and inventory management.
  • Understand Aerospace QMS  ‘flow down’ requirements, including coordination of rejections, rework, repair and exchange of defective materials.
  • Input and maintain the master production schedule and verify the output of the MRP calculations.
  • Release and monitor orders to the procurement team and to the production shop floors, identify and resolve order related issues, and ensure on time delivery of all orders.
  • Understand and manage risks to minimize impact on production schedule.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of work in process and be able to clearly and effectively communicate status, issues and path forward plans to multiple levels of the organization.

Experience:


  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability
  • 2-4 years working experience in manufacturing planning and scheduling
  • Excellent data-driven problem solving skills 
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, across multiple teams and with senior management
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced manufacturing environment, prioritize appropriately and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with various cross functional teams

$45 - $50 an hour
