Position Summary
Atlanta United is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This individual will report to the Accounting Manager and assist in the day-to-day and month-end accounting for Atlanta United. Additionally, s/he will assist in the completion of the Company’s annual audits, Major League Soccer reporting and on various special projects. S/he will provide strategic support to the finance team and management including process documentation, controls implementation, treasury management and other requested projects.
Role and Responsibilities
- Assist in the month-end close process including preparing journal entries, analyses, intercompany tie-outs, and account reconciliations;
- Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts in compliance with GAAP;
- Track and reconcile capital expenditures;
- Manage check depositing and cash requests;
- Ownership of sponsorship invoicing and revenue tracking;
- Effectively communicate issues and errors to departments and management;
- Perform ad-hoc internal reporting and analysis
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Solid understanding of GAAP
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- 1-2 years of full cycle accounting experience preferred
- Great Plains, Concur and Vena experience a plus
