Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager to collaborate closely with our Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and technology leadership team. This role will be pivotal in providing strategic financial insight and support for managing infrastructure costs, capacity planning, financial projections, and pricing models. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both financial planning and technology operations, as well as the ability to drive data-driven decisions that align with the company’s growth goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Management & Forecasting:
- Partner with the CTO and tech teams to manage infrastructure costs, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost optimization.
- Develop and manage comprehensive financial models for technology infrastructure, including cloud services, hardware, and software expenses.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses for new technology investments and initiatives.
- Monitor and forecast ongoing infrastructure expenses, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and budgets.
Capacity Planning & Projections:
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to develop capacity planning models that align with current and future infrastructure needs.
- Provide financial forecasts and scenarios to guide decision-making around infrastructure scaling and capacity needs.
- Support strategic initiatives related to infrastructure expansion, consolidation, or migration to ensure they align with financial goals.
Pricing Strategy & Financial Analysis:
- Collaborate with the technology team to brainstorm and implement innovative pricing strategies related to infrastructure procurement and management.
- Develop and refine cost models that optimize the procurement of technology infrastructure (e.g., cloud services, data centers, hardware) while maximizing value and efficiency.
- Analyze the financial impact of various procurement strategies and their effects on overall margins and profitability.
- Provide insights on infrastructure cost structures, helping to develop strategies that enhance competitiveness and long-term sustainability.
Reporting & KPI Tracking:
- Create and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs that provide actionable insights into infrastructure costs and capacity.
- Work with cross-functional teams to monitor and report on technology spend, project ROI, and overall financial performance.
Strategic Partnership & Leadership:
- Serve as a strategic partner to the CTO in driving cost-efficient technology operations and ensuring financial alignment with technology strategies.
- Assist the finance and technology teams in annual budget planning, quarterly reviews, and long-term strategic initiatives.
- Present financial analysis and recommendations to senior management and the board of directors as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or related roles, with a focus on technology or infrastructure costs.
- Strong understanding of technology infrastructure (cloud, data centers, SaaS, etc.) and capacity planning.
- Proven ability to build complex financial models and conduct in-depth financial analyses.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial insights to both finance and technology stakeholders.
- Experience in working closely with senior leadership, including CTOs, CFOs, and other C-level executives.
- Strong proficiency in financial tools and software (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, financial modeling tools).
- Experience in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment is a plus.
