The Opportunity


The design team at Observe.AI is looking for an experienced and exceptional Principal Product Designer. Design is at the heart of innovation at Observe.AI, where we predominantly and optimally use AI to fulfill most of our customer’s business needs. You will be a change agent in reimagining and delivering our next level of user experience along with a vibrant, energetic and creative design team.As a Principal Product Designer, your influence extends beyond your core team and projects, impacting the broader product pillars within the organization.

You'll design solutions aimed at increasing user efficiency across our applications. Your ability to look beyond immediate tasks and consider long-term goals, such as building LLM powered products, will be crucial.

Responsibilities


  • Product Sense:
  • Domain Expertise: Be the go-to expert in our product space, consistently sharing new trends, patterns, and tools with the team.
  • Vision & Strategy: Propose and execute company-level product strategies that resolve complex questions about our product’s future. Advocate your perspective at all organizational levels, including executive leadership, using data, storytelling, and visual design to align stakeholders.
  • Research & Objective Clarity:
  • Objective Clarity: Handle complex and ambiguous projects, defining clear requirements and prioritizing impactful workstreams. Use first principles thinking to identify new opportunities.
  • Research: Lead qualitative and quantitative research efforts, ensuring that the necessary data and insights are gathered to inform design decisions.
  • Design Craftsmanship:
  • Visual Design: Deliver thorough, precise, and complete design work, considering edge cases and system-wide impacts. Own the design system for your focus area, partnering effectively with the design systems team.
  • Interaction Design: Create intentional prototypes that communicate ideas effectively and influence business decisions. Master common industry interaction patterns and their platform-specific nuances.
  • Design Systems: Simplify and unify design systems when necessary, understanding the implications of exceptions. Proactively identify and address opportunities for system improvements.
  • Collaboration:
  • Communication: Be a strong storyteller, influencing and persuading at all levels, from team members to executives. Coach others in written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Process Expertise: Influence team processes, manage high volumes of feedback, and model effective stakeholder management. Lead by example in building and refining design processes.
  • Impact: Maximize the impact of your work, making a strong business case for your design decisions. Take on projects outside of core responsibilities and contribute to quality control within your product area.
  • Leadership & Culture:
  • Leadership: Lead by example, guiding others toward action and mentoring team members. Implement and define team processes like critiques and meetings.
  • Value & Culture: Represent the design discipline across the organization, giving feedback on process and culture. Actively participate in hiring and be a role model for embodying company values.

Preferred Past Experiences


  • Large Language Model powered products such as Chatbot and Voicebot
  • Contact Center Industry domain knowledge
