Director, Financial Systems

We're in search of a Director, Financial Systems who has a passion for optimizing and evolving enterprise systems, focusing on Accounting, Tax, and Billing, while designing architecture that is built for future growth.  This director-level position will manage engineers within the Financial Systems team, focusing on delivery and execution, while building best in class solutions that scale.  They will partner with the IT product teams, while working closely with their customers in Accounting and Billing.

About this roll (Responsibilities)


  • Technical owner of Financial Systems for Accounting and Billing, including ongoing maintenance and support of these platforms
  • Hands-on leader of engineers across multiple financial SaaS platforms, focusing on solution design, architecture, development, and optimization
  • Focusing on industry best practices and emerging technologies to build solutions for scale, ensuring consistent performance and optimization
  • Drive cross functional collaboration with product, IT, engineering, and architecture to ensure we only deliver the best platforms and solutions for our customers 
  • Partner with internal stakeholders in Finance, Technology, and supporting organizations to define and deliver best practices and architecture for enterprise wide initiatives
  • Managing financial systems operations and administration, while continuing to improve processes to reduce manual intervention
  • Ownership of system financial system controls, including ensuring compliance to internal and external auditors
  • Continuously build credibility with engineers, by leading technical reviews and discussions, ensure best practices are developed and enforced, and advocate for the needs of the engineers
  • Mentor team members, identify/develop opportunities for individual growth, and set a positive example for working in a team environment

Do you have the right ingredients? (Requirements)


Bachelors’ degree in business or computer science discipline


  • 10+ years of experience building and supporting finance systems, implementing and managing SaaS accounting, billing and order applications in a global organization
  • In depth knowledge of business processes including areas such as General Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Financial Reporting, Tax, and Billing
  • Demonstrated work experience with integrating business and financial applications to third party corporate financial systems (Netsuite, Zuora, Vertex, custom apps) 
  • Ability to drive conversations and design solutions with senior leaders in accounting, tax, and billing
  • Experience delivering complex financial applications and programs that drive financial transformation
  • Experience with NetSuite or Zuora platforms preferred
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, highly organized, detail-oriented, able to multitask and prioritize under urgency
  • Proven track record of leading successful finance transformation initiatives and driving cross-functional collaboration
  • Team-oriented and capable of collaborating across multiple functions within the organization
  • Experience leading global teams and working across multiple time zones

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.Pay Range$202,000—$323,000 USD
