This role focuses on creating intuitive, responsive, and visually appealing user interfaces that enhance the experience of integrating our platform with financial accounting systems. You will work on creating seamless workflows and dashboards that empower users to manage and reconcile aggregated transactions originating from various Toast platforms such as Toast POS, Employee Cloud, and Billpay services. These transactions span across sales data, payroll information, vendor payments, and other financial touchpoints, making the UI a critical element for simplifying complex data processing. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape the financial ecosystem for our customers by transforming complex integrations into a seamless and engaging user experience, ultimately enhancing the efficiency of accounting operations across the Toast platform.You will work on building seamless workflows and dashboards that empower users to manage accounting transactions efficiently.
About This Roll* (Responsibilities)
As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in front-end development with React and GraphQL, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality user interfaces for our web applications. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate design concepts into functional and engaging user experiences. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of front-end technologies, a keen eye for design, and a commitment to delivering seamless UI/UX solutions.
- Develop and maintain front-end components and features using React.js and GraphQL
- Collaborate with designers and product managers to translate UI/UX design wireframes into code
- Implement responsive design principles to ensure compatibility across various devices and browsers
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
- Stay up-to-date with emerging front-end technologies and industry trends
- Troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure smooth user experience
- Work closely with back-end developers to integrate front-end components with server-side logic
- Help build highly resilient, flexible and scalable architecture
- Plan, scope and rapidly prototype solutions using a combination of web technologies
- Make technical decisions and recommendations that will lay the foundation for the future of our strategy
- Stay in tune with customer needs by participating in user interviews and research
Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of professional experience in front-end development
- Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React.js, GraphQL
- Strong understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility
- Experience with RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling
- Familiarity with Git version control system
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Growth mindset with an emphasis on learning and self/team-improvement
- Ability to learn quickly within a fast paced environment and comfort with ambiguity
- Flexible in using different tech stacks and languages
Special Sauce* (Nonessential Skills/Nice to Haves)
- Experience in an early stage technology startup or interest in startups
- Experience with Redux or other state management libraries
- Experience in .NET MVC frontend applications development
- Knowledge of front-end build tools such as Webpack, Babel, or Gulp
- Familiarity with unit testing frameworks
- Experience with UI/UX design tools like Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD
- Experience with APIs written in Java/Kotlin
