We are always on the lookout for new talent and crypto-curious thinkers who share our passion for the future of finance. As an Accounting Controller, you will join the Finance Systems team, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. You will enhance the efficiency of closing processes and develop innovative accounting solutions, all while supporting regulatory compliance and contributing to the continuous improvement of our financial systems.

What you'll do


  • Be responsible for the daily operations of the SAP Financial Products Subledger for Bitstamp Group operational entities, ensuring the integrity of financial records in the Subledger.
  • Coordinate and oversee the monthly Subledger closing process (financial closing process for regular reporting), including the substantiation and reconciliation of key figures with the Bitstamp Core system and the General Ledger Trial Balance, while continuously improving the closing quality and timeline.
  • Develop and automate accounting processes, implementing controls for new accounting schemas in the SAP Financial Products Subledger.
  • Participate in the development of accounting processes and internal controls, and document policies, procedures, and workflows for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Work closely with the General Ledger and Financial Reporting teams, supporting the preparation of management reports and regulatory returns.
  • Contribute to external and internal audit processes.
  • Monitor compliance with accepted accounting principles and other statutory requirements in the jurisdictions relevant to your areas of responsibility.

On day one you'll bring


  • Professional accounting/finance education is desired.
  • 3 years of relevant experience in a multinational company.
  • Experience in the financial sector (bank/insurance) is an asset.
  • Strong user of ERP, preferably SAP.
  • Strong analytical skills are required.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Excellent computer skills and solid understanding of accounting software principles.
  • Good attention to detail, self-starter.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
