The Senior Actuarial Analyst will provide actuarial pricing support for the Warranty & Consumer Products Department, with a focus on Auto Warranty (VSC, GAP, Ancillary) and Consumer Products (Furniture, Appliances, Electronics). Additional pricing responsibilities include rate level indications, analyzing loss emergence & earnings patterns for multi-year contracts, management reporting, planning & forecasting, monitoring performance and communicating results to internal & external stakeholders.
This role will have significant collaboration with Underwriting, Claims and Account Management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Risk Management or a related field highly preferred.
- Pursuit of actuarial designation of Associate or Fellow (Society of Actuaries or Casualty Actuarial Society)
- Successful completion of 3+ actuarial exams
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
- SQL / Snowflake (or other data querying tool) skills preferred
- Progress toward attainment of actuarial designation of Associate or Fellow (Society of Actuaries or Casualty Actuarial Society)
Primary Job Functions:
- Conducts annual pricing reviews for accounts within the Warranty & Consumer Product line of business
- Analyze earnings patterns development and implementation
- Monitor external economic and industry trends to forecast future loss emergence
- Produces and analyzes monthly and quarterly financial reports
- Provides miscellaneous actuarial support for various departments
- Supports state data call requests for information
- Performs ad hoc program loss experience reviews
- Provides data and support for annual planning and forecasting
- Effectively communicates results to key stakeholders
