Berman Subaru of Chicago is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead all aspects of our high volume dealership. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of success in large-scale operations with a strong emphasis on import brand performance, customer satisfaction, and team development. This role requires a results-driven leader with operational discipline, and the ability to foster a culture of excellence and accountability.

Pay Scale: $350,000-$750,000 per year 

Responsibilities


  • Oversee day to day dealership operations across all departments, including Sales, Service, Parts, and Finance
  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve profitability targets and KPIs, including volume, gross profit, fixed operations, and CSI
  • Mentor, and motivate department managers and staff to ensure peak performance, retention, and alignment with group goals
  • Champion a customer-centric culture that delivers an exceptional retail experience and builds long term loyalty
  • Implement best practices for efficiency, compliance, and operational excellence across departments
  • Partner with the marketing team and manufacturer representatives to drive brand image, inventory strategy, and promotional activities

Qualifications


  • Minimum of at least 3 years as a General Manager
  • Import brand experience strongly preferred
  • Prior experience managing large-scale, high-volume operations (300+ units/month)
  • Deep understanding of forecasting, inventory control, and operational budgeting
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and driving performance through accountability and positive culture
