Overall Purpose
Lula is hiring an experienced Sales Team Lead primarily focused on driving sales performance and accelerating customer engagement within our banking and funding environment. This role is essential for providing hands-on coaching and accountability to achieve revenue targets, while actively maintaining integrity and risk control. A core function involves acting as a key stakeholder, building cross-functional relationships internally, to ensure operational alignment and to scale effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Drive Team Performance and Strategy: Set clear goals, devise effective sales strategies, and actively monitor team performance metrics to maximise the Sales Department's success.
- Manage Day-to-Day Operations: Oversee daily workflow by effectively delegating tasks and setting deadlines to ensure operational efficiency.
- Mentor and Motivate Staff: Actively coach, mentor, and motivate team members, fostering an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture.
- Performance Accountability: Evaluate individual and team performance, implementing corrective measures and necessary support to maintain a high-performing sales function.
- Risk and Quality Improvement: Analyse customer escalations and quality scores, providing root cause analysis and implementing controls to reduce risk and improve overall quality.
- Cross-Functional Strategy: Act as a key stakeholder with Marketing and Credit Risk teams to develop and execute cross-functional strategies for customer acquisition and scaling the business.
- Process Excellence: Support the rigorous training and roll-out of new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring consistency and compliance.
- Culture & Brand: Represent and embody the company's values, culture, and brand in all interactions, setting the standard for the team.
The Experience & Skills We’re Looking For
- Grade 12 achieved (required)
- 3+ years of sales team leader experience within the financial services/fintech sector.
- Experienced hands-on leader who leverages coaching to drive team accountability and maximise sales performance, underpinned by excellent sales and negotiation skills used to deliver high-impact outcomes with integrity.
- Customer-centric approach with attention to detail for operational accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly collaborative in building internal partnerships to align with broader company goals.
- CRM experience is advantageous.
