Systems Engineering Intern (Summer 2026)

Systems Engineering Intern - El Segundo, CA


This is a full-time (40 hours / week) internship based in our El Segundo office. As an Engineering Intern on our Systems Engineering Team, you will work on the development of certifiable flight automation technologies and cost-efficient processes for the new Urban Commercial Aviation industry. The Summer Intern Program will run for 12 weeks starting in May / June depending on your academic calendar. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Assist with defining system requirements, performing system integration, developing system test cases and procedures, and reviewing test reports and artifacts
  • Coordinate the architecture and development of the systems/ subsystems for a certifiable autonomous flight control system
  • Perform system integration, verification and validation, and analysis of total systems
  • Develop detailed system design including defining system and state logic, as well as designing safety monitors and algorithms
  • Support documentation for design, analysis, and specifications
  • Work with the multifunctional teams to implement the architecture strategy
  • Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Currently enrolled in a university pursuing your BS, MS in an engineering discipline (Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering)
  • Graduating between December 2025 & June 2026
  • Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • PhD Student studying Systems, Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Prior internship experience in aviation a bonus
