RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
- Rapidly prototype and implement backend game logic and meta-features.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to plan and execute backend projects.
- Maintain and modernize a legacy codebase, including implementation and bug fixes.
- Ensure code quality through unit testing, peer reviews, and adherence to coding standards.
- Optimize backend services for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Support game launches and live operations, troubleshooting and resolving issues in both development and production environments.
- Serve as the primary point of contact in Asia, working closely with a distributed engineering team across regions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 - 5 years of experience in backend development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming (OOP) - strong skills in C# and .NET Core/.NET 6+ are a plus.
- Hands-on experience with REST APIs and microservices.
- Knowledge of both relational and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Ability to work effectively with legacy systems, balancing maintenance with modernization and knowing when refactoring is appropriate.
- Comfortable working with a high level of autonomy, consistently delivering high-quality, reliable solutions.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Good command of English - both written and spoken.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in high-traffic consumer applications.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization.
