Job Description:
The Project Manager will oversee project lifecycles from planning through execution, ensuring cross-functional coordination and risk management across multiple sub-projects. This role will maintain program-level governance by tracking risks, actions, issues, and decisions (RAID), while providing leadership in project scheduling, stakeholder communication, and escalation management. Projects will focus on large-scale data management, reporting, and analytics systems supporting healthcare and related initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Manage projects using PMBOK-based project management methodologies with formal processes, templates, and guidelines for all phases.
- Prepare and manage comprehensive project management plans, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, issues, and communication plans.
- Create and maintain detailed project schedules and deliverables across multiple integrated sub-projects using Microsoft Project.
- Develop and maintain program-level RAID logs (Risks, Actions, Issues, Decisions).
- Track project performance to ensure goals and milestones are met.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, and cross-team discussions to align project objectives.
- Escalate risks and issues to leadership and ensure timely resolution.
- Identify and facilitate communications with stakeholder groups, including executives.
- Utilize formal project change management processes and ensure all changes are documented and communicated.
- Conduct stakeholder analysis sessions, facilitate lessons learned, and manage expectations.
- Develop and execute transition plans to ensure successful handoff to operations.
- Partner with enterprise-level PMO organizations to ensure alignment with standards.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 7 years of project management experience with weekly executive-level stakeholder communications.
- 7 years of experience managing COTS software implementations and/or custom SDLC application development projects.
- 5 years of experience developing and maintaining schedules in Microsoft Project.
- 5 years of experience managing IT projects in State, Federal, or Local government agencies.
- 4 years of experience managing IT projects under a formal PMO with budget and schedule tracking.
- 5 years of experience working on IT projects in healthcare, Medicaid, or Medicare environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 24 months of experience holding a PMP certification.
- Strong knowledge of SSDLC and secure project delivery methodologies.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Prior experience leading large-scale government technology transformation or healthcare IT projects.
- Familiarity with Agile, hybrid, and traditional PMO methodologies.
- Strong facilitation, negotiation, and communication skills with senior stakeholders.
