Description: Contracting Resources Group (CRG), a Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB), is seeking a Proposal Writer to support the company’s business development team. This position will work directly with the Chief Growth Officer in independently creating proposal content tailored to specific government opportunities. An ideal candidate would be someone who can translate technical solutioning into a clear and effective story, research and write independently, create style guides, and work with a diverse group of SMEs to create compelling proposal content.Job Duties
- Work with the Proposal Manager to establish and meet all proposal related milestones.
- Coordinate with the Business Development Team, Capture Managers, Program Managers, and SMEs to gather technical input and transform it into clear, compelling proposal content.
- Develop compliant, persuasive proposal responses to federal solicitations (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs) that clearly articulate the company’s technical, management, and past performance capabilities.
- Draft, edit, and finalize sections including executive summaries, technical/management volumes, staffing plans, and past performance write-ups.
- Drafts win themes, translates capture and competitive intelligence into proposal content.
- Works with the Graphic Design Team to translate text and concepts into proposal visuals.
- Supports the Proposal Manager in coordinating the proposal lifecycle from kickoff through final submission, including facilitating color team reviews (Pink, Red, Gold) and incorporating evaluator-focused feedback.
- Maintain a repository of reusable proposal content, templates, graphics, and boilerplate language to streamline proposal development.
- Ensure all proposal submissions are error-free, compliant, and delivered on time via government submission portals or other required methods.
- Support oral proposal preparation and presentation development, as required by the solicitation.
- Track proposal outcomes and integrate lessons learned into continuous improvement of proposal processes and quality.
- Stays current on proposal writing best practices, acquisition trends, AI technologies, procurement strategies, and federal contracting best practices to enhance the competitiveness of future submissions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree with at least 8 total years of professional experience.
- 5 years of experience working as a proposal writer responding to Federal Government solicitations with $50M+ valuation.
- Evidence of a successful track record of high quality, high scoring proposals.
- Demonstrated success writing and leading technical, management, transition, staffing, and/or corporate experience & past performance volumes for complex efforts.
- In-depth understanding of compliance with all sections of governmental RFPs, experience analyzing RFPs, creating annotated outlines, writing new material, editing written material, and producing high-quality proposals under tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Highly developed word processing skills, especially with Microsoft Office products and working knowledge of graphics and desktop publishing in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of Sharepoint or other proposal collaboration tools.
- Flexible and open to changing schedules and priorities and managing multiple tasks simultaneously within compressed timeframes.
- Able and willing to work extended hours to meet dynamic and shifting requirements and proposal deadlines.
