Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced developer to join our team as a Software Development Engineer (Java/Node.js) as part of our
Shark
Team. While most of the team members are based in Israel, we’re "work from anywhere" friendly and have several team members working from remote locations. The successful candidate will be part of a team that owns the entire User Management system along with taking part in other Security Engineering related tasks. You will be part of the Global Product and Technology unit and would help to build state-of-the-art services that are used by our largest customers.
You will:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance backend systems and APIs using Java and Spring framework and Node.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable, reliable, and efficient solutions including testing and documentation.
- Contribute to the improvement and refactoring of existing codebases, ensuring code quality and performance.
- Scale our current system to serve 10x traffic in the next 12 months with critical uptime over >99.999%
- Assist in the transition from monolithic architectures to modern microservices, optimization of code and DB queries.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex technical issues, providing timely resolutions.
- Work closely with frontend engineers to integrate backend services with user interfaces.
- Document code, processes, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding of new team members.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, proposing innovative solutions to enhance product offerings
You have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in backend development.
- Proficiency in Java and Spring framework is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles and best practices.
- Experience with Node.js is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with frontend technologies is a plus.
- Prior experience in maintaining and refactoring legacy codebases.
- Deep understanding of software design patterns and architectural principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a global, remote team environment.
